For the Brighton Dome Comedy Festival, the night headlined by Sara Pascoe promises to be a highlight. Known for her sharp wit, Pascoe has become a household name with her BBC stand-up special LadsLadsLads and her role in the Out of Her Mind sitcom. She is also widely recognised for appearing on Taskmaster and hosting The Great British Sewing Bee. She will be joined by some significant comedy talents, including Jamali Maddix, known for his biting humour on Hate Thy Neighbor, and Rachel Fairburn, a regular on the UK comedy scene.
The legendary Phil Kay, famous for his unpredictable, freewheeling style of stand-up, also brings his unique flavour to the stage. But the night does not stop there—audiences will be treated to a performance by the Jam Tarts Choir, an indie choir of 60 voices, performing a highly unusual and comedic piece: Modern Toss's Periodic Table of Swearing. Initially planned for the 2020 Brighton Festival, the performance is finally coming to life after pandemic delays. This provocative and hilarious rendition is more Baroque than punk rock but, as noted, "not for the faint-hearted or easily offended."
This blend of comedy and avant-garde musical performance will surely make for a memorable and unique night at the Brighton Dome.
